Un breve aggiornamento sulla nostra avventura inglese...
Alessandra started teaching bellydance in 1998, having previously worked as a fitness trainer and as a trainer and choreographer for rhythmic gymnastics for many years.
Alessandra splits her time between London and Italy, where she teaches at the Barco Mocenigo. She teaches different levels, with a group of advanced students under the name "Shiki-tiki-tà" (it is the nickname her students used to give her as they found this to be how she expresses herself when she wants to vehemently underline a rhythm pattern). Shiki-tiki- tà have a show called "Under the Moon" and a portfolio of different dances in various styles.
Alessandra has a love for ATS - in her words “the great value of that style is the creation of a dance which is in itself an original, not the copy of something else. ATS expresses the soul and body of the American dancer much better than any baladi or karsilama. It adheres totally to the performer”. Alessandra is building a Mediterranean dance vocabulary based on bellydance, spicing it up with a traditional Italian feeling and using a new generation of folk music that puts together traditional vocalists and Mediterranean percussions.

CIAO A TUTTI, VICINI E LONTANI.
Un breve aggiornamento sulla nostra avventura inglese. Le ballerine del Barco Mocenigo e io abbiamo partecipato al FANTASIA BELLY DANCE FESTIVAL di Londra lo scorso 13-15 dicembre, esibendoci allo spettacolo sabato sera. La domenica ho tenuto un seminario sul nostro stile particolare e sull'espressività emotiva (http://www.jwaad.com/tabid/8419/default.aspx). La soddisfazione è andata alle stelle quando l'organizzatrice, Josephine Wise, ci ha dichiarato che secondo lei "Sette Donne" è stata la migliore performance della serata e ci ha chiesto di partecipare anche l'anno prossimo.

Ho visto sul loro sito che hanno una sorta di sconto quantità, 10 copie a 100 sterline invece di 20 l'uno.
Domenica 4 gennaio dalle 16 alle 18 SEMINARIO DI SPADA & CIMBALI. Due ore tra tecnica e impostazione di alcune interazioni tra coppie in cui una persona ha la spada e l'altra i sagat. Inoltre getteremo le basi di una revisione di T'yem, coreografia che avevamo realizzato per lo spettacolo "Sotto la Luna", e che vorrei riprendere in considerazione.
Si stanno aprendo dei CONTATTI con altri gruppi, anche musicali, che prospettano una collaborazione potenziale musicisti-danzatrici. La cosa è molto interessante.
Il week-end 24-25 gennaio torno a Londra, stavolta a studiare: c'è TRIBALONDON (http://www.tribalondon.co.uk). Già qualcuna di voi si è aggiunta, stiamo preparando la carovana. Chi fosse interessato me lo faccia sapere.
